Hardware & Software For Classes

1. Audio / Video

Here is a list of audio/video hardware and software that are typically used with our online classes. We offer a flexible approach to setting up our classes, so you may choose from a list of several programs for audio and video.  These programs do require that you have a computer microphone for audio chat (preferably a headset, but not necessary) and camera if you want to bring the video experience to your instruction.  You may also used built-in audio/video on your laptop.

Both of these programs are free, can be downloaded very easily, and are offered for PC and Mac users.

2. Added Interaction

To enahnce language development, we often like to illustrate certain concepts by giving you examples.  This can be done through file sharing, sharing desktop space, and using a virtual white board.  To achieve this capability, we use a product called Scribblar.  It is free to use, simple to join a session, and student feedback shows that instruction is greatly improved with this added interaction.

If you choose to include this, you will be given a link from your instructor at the beginning of the class.
